Questions people ask
- What counts as a request?
- One answer. A Sonnet answer counts as one request; a Haiku answer counts as half of one, so the same month holds twice as many of them. The picker under the message box shows the cost before you send.
- What happens when the month’s requests are used?
- The service stops for the month rather than quietly switching models. The sidebar counts as you go, and when a model no longer fits we say which one still does. The count starts over on the first of the month, or you can add 100 requests as a one-off.
- Can I switch between Basic and Pro?
- Yes, in Settings › Plan & usage. Moving up to Pro starts at once: you pay today for the rest of the current period, less what is left of Basic, and the monthly limit rises straight away. Moving down to Basic starts at your next renewal, so nothing is refunded and nothing changes until then.
- How do I cancel?
- In Settings › Plan & usage, with Cancel plan; you stay on this site. Cancelling keeps your plan until the end of the period you have paid for; then you are back on Free with whatever free messages you had left.
- Who has my card details?
- Stripe. The payment form is Stripe's, shown inside this site, and we never see the card number. Invoices are Stripe's too, listed in Settings › Billing.
- Is the free plan going away?
- No. It is how most people should start, and for many it is enough.
